I’m Loes and together with my husband, daughter, dog and four guinea pigs I live in Amstelveen. To add to all the fun, I also have two horses.
As long as I can remember I wanted to become a veterinarian. People can tell you whats wrong by using words, but animals have different ways of telling us. This is exactly what makes veterinary medicine so interesting for me. You do not only face the medical side, but you also need to take animal behavior and owners into account. Apart from this, veterinary medicine is very divers and you can develop yourself in a lot of different directions. My own interests especially lie in surgery, emergency care, rabbits/rodents and animal behavior.
As a veterinary student I had the opportunity to do my internship at the Vondelpark animal clinic. I was very impressed by the team, the expertise and especially the clients! Therefor I feel privileged to work at animal clinic Vondelpark.
As a child I had an early interest in the medical field and I was a big animal lover. It was no surprise that I chose the study veterinary medicine. My first year of studies was in Ghent (Belgium), but after a year I came back to our beautiful small country to finish my study at the University of Utrecht. The learning to become a vet I varied with more practical work as a veterinary assistant.
In 2013 I graduated. Shortly after, I got offered a job at a clinic in Hoofddorp and after that I worked for 5 years at a clinic in Haarlem. From January 2019 I’m part of the fantastic team of Veterinary clinic Vondelpark.
What I like the most in my work as a vet, is the contact with the patients, but also with the owners. I find it a challenge to work with the owner and together get to a diagnosis and treatment. My interest is mostly surgery and especially laparoscopic surgery (surgery by means of a camera). Other than that I also have a special interest in dermatology.
In my spare time I do sports, I like to travel the word, but I also find it very nice to relax at home with my red cat Moos.
I am looking forward to meet you in our clinic!
I am Joy Zonneveld and I live in Heemskerk.
From a very young age I’ve always loved animals, that’s why I started the Paraveterinary course. During my internship at Vondelpark Animal Clinic I had a great time and I am also lucky that after my internship I was allowed to come and work here! I graduated in June 2018 as a assistant at the Clusius College in Alkmaar.
The work as a starting assistant is very nice, this is mainly because there is a lot of variety possible here in this clinic. Hopefully I will meet you soon!
I am Nirita Brand and I have just joined the great team of Veterinarian Clinic Vondelpark.
I graduated in June 2013 from the University of Utrecht and since then I have been working as a veterinarian, with the exception of the last 5 months in which I have travelled around the world! However beautiful this period has been, I am more than ready to get back to work.
I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends at the clinic!
‘I graduated in 2013 at the University of Utrecht as a veterinarian for small animals. Since my graduation I’ve been working as a veterinarian and I love it! My interests are internal medicine, radiology and echographics and reproduction.
When I was a child I always had pets (little chicks, rabbits, ducks and hamsters) and now I have two Golden Retrievers named Smash and Vino. During my education I’ve gained a lot of experience by working as an assistant in another clinic and in the emergency clinic in Amsterdam. I also have worked as a volunteer at a sterilization/castration-project in Albania. In my spare time I like to play tennis, see my friends and travel. For my graduation-project I’ve been to New-Zealand and Australia, where I have learned a lot and enjoyed visiting these beautiful countries.
You can find me at the clinic most of the time on Tuesdays and Fridays and I look forward to giving the best care to your pet, together with my colleagues.’
Hi my name is Kelly and, together with my dog Jade, I live in Zandvoort. From a young age I always knew that I wanted to work with animals, and in 2010 I graduated as a veterinary technician at the Groenhorst College in Barneveld.
After my studies, I started my career at a regular clinic, then progressing to an emergency clinic for 5,5 years where I learned a lot. The versatility of our job and the contact with pets and their owners is something that I really love. Since November 2016 I have been working in the veterinary clinic Vondelpark. This is a great clinic with an amazing team!
I hope to meet you and your pets soon!
‘Who doesn’t want to be a vet! Off course I wanted this, just like many other small children. At that moment I didn’t really realize what it all meant. I had a romantic image in which all animals will get better, everyone would come in crying and leave laughing. I can tell you, I was right (often..)!
I have the best job in the world! The variation in work, try my best to be the best, see a lot of different pets and owners, in the center of Amsterdam.. we heal a lot of animals, get lots of positive reactions, have a lovely team and we all work hard to make our clinic even better. With better care for your pets and sincere involvement with the owners, we have success! Come meet us soon..’
My name is Laura. Starting at a young age I have always had a great love for animals. I grew up in the countryside of Tanzania where I encountered many types of animals. When we moved to The Netherlands we always had plenty of pets. My love for animals only grew, and I knew my future path in life was to help take care of animals. For this reason I studied Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University. Graduating in 2015,
I started at Veterinary clinic Vondelpark as an intern and loved the clinic. The team is helpful, qualified, involved with both their patients and their owners, and I believe this is the best possible place to work and make a difference. I feel very fortunate that I was able to start here as a veterinarian after my diploma. My main interests are internal medicine and cat medicine, and that is where I’m able to shift my focus.
I love traveling and in my spare time I like to play soccer or just hang out in Amsterdam.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet in our clinic.
Hi there! My name is Fleur Visser and I have been working at the Veterinary clinic Vondelpark since 2016. I live in Amsterdam with my boyfriend and our cat Kees.
Before I started my career as a veterinary technician, I worked in sales after a previous stint in Economics. After a while I decided to make a big change and start doing something that makes me happy; working with animals! Since that moment, I have never regretted this decision! I love working with humans and animals and I love that every day is different.
Hello all! My name is Kelly Buis and I live in Amsterdam with my parents, brother, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
In May 2015 I completed the Paraveterinaire study and since June 2015 I have been working at Veterinarian Clinic Vondelpark. I did my last internship and my training at this practice as well. When I finished my studies I received a phone call from Caitlyn and Els, unfortunately one of the assistants stopped and they needed someone who came to fill the gaps, so I could get started right after my studies!
The nice thing about this profession is the combination of working with people and animals. I like it very much if I can support concerned owners and see if they are relieved after a treatment of their animal. I also like to see how an animal is recovering with a lot of care and love!
‘Hi everybody! My name is Caitlyn Immerzeel and I’ve graduated as a paraveterinarian in May 2013. I started looking for a job immediately, and at ‘Dierenkliniek Vondelpark’, I was hired! I got the call even before I was able to pick up my diploma. It was a dream coming true.
I always had an interest in working with animals, as long as I can remember. I was afraid working with a veterinarian might not be for me, because you will face really hard or sad things owners and their pets have to deal with. I wanted to make sure, so I took an internship at a clinic in Amsterdam. I noticed that it gives a very satisfying feeling to help ill animals and to comfort their worried owners. I never want to lose this feeling, so I really have my dream job!
I hope I can help and comfort you also, at the counter or on the phone.
