At Dierenkliniek Vondelpark it is possible to have your animal X-rayed. We work with a digital X-ray system, so that the photos taken can be assessed immediately. We can use X-rays to assess the bones and joints, the thoracic cavity and, depending on the problem, the abdomen as well. In some cases, we will forward the X-rays to a specialist for assessment. The result will then take a little longer.
For some X-rays it is important that your animal lies completely still for a longer period of time. In this case, the photos must be taken under a small sedation.
Ultrasound may be needed when an animal is pregnant, suspected of having heart problems, or to check the organs in the abdomen without preforming surgery. There usually is no need for anesthesia during ultrasound procedures.
